Mining & Minerals
Mining & Minerals
Mining is dominated by large companies, most of them publicly listed. The sector is typically made up of multi-national companies sustained by mineral production from their mining operations. It takes place in many countries throughout the world, and as of 2007 the total market capitalisation of mining companies was reported at US$962 billion.
In addition to these two sectors, various other industries such as equipment manufacture, environmental testing and metallurgy analysis also rely on and support the mining industry throughout the world. Canadian stock exchanges have a particular focus on mining companies.
As Mining and Mineral exploration has expanded to new frontiers in recent years, so has the need for specialised language training to support this arose. The so-called BRIC countries of Brazil, Russia, India and China, have given mining companies new opportunities.
Cactus has organised a number of language programs specifically for companies from the Mining and Minerals Industry. Cactus has provided language training in Portuguese and Business English to companies from Toronto, Vancouver and Chicago working closely with Brazil. Training has taken place either on a one-to-one basis or in a closed group format.
