Cactus Italian Language teachers Ottavia Castellina and Roberta Napolitana recently spent three weeks in our Costa Rica office to do the impossible, teach Italian to 20 native Spanish speakers to a level in which they would be comfortably dealing with basic non-technical emails and chat messaging with native Italian customers after 120 hours of intensive in-house training. This task involved firstly understanding our business and then designing a teaching curriculum around the likely challenges and scenarios coming out of this new venture.
The professionalism of Roberta and Ottavia was amazing; not only did they have a natural gift for teaching but also were superbly profficient in the very difficult task of designing the eight hour training session for each following day, by building on the previous days' learning. This involved working until very late every night and rising early in the morning to prepare the material for the sessions of that day. Weekends were spent collating exam results and further preparing for the following week.
In spite of this very heavy and stressful schedule, both maintained their composure and positive attitude at all times. This was reflected in the enthusiasm of our trainees with whom they achieved a strong bond from the beginnning.
