The World in One City: Learn a Language in Liverpool

Wednesday, 1st April 2009

Liverpool handed its Capital of Culture status to Vilnius, Lithuania in January this year.

The slogan adopted throughout 2008 was “The World in One City” and even though the festivities may have stopped you don’t need to go abroad to find ‘the World’:

-There are over 2000 international students at the University of Liverpool alone from some 120 countries.
-Europe’s oldest China Town can be found in the Duke Street area.
-You can fly to 70 destinations from John Lennon Airport
-Liverpool International Tennis Tournament attracts players from all over Europe.
-Cactus offer adult education evening courses in French, Spanish, Italian and Turkish in L3.  Courses are designed in 10 manageable 10 week chunks and are all taught by native speakers.
