Looking for an alternative Christmas this year?

Although Christmas is supposed to be a happy, festive time to spend with friends and family, not everyone enjoys this time of year.

If the re-emergence of the plastic tree, the scratched CD of Christmas songs and the box of last year’s disgarded crackers fills you with dread, why not make some escape plans sooner rather than later?

One issue when it comes to taking holidays over Christmas time is that it can sometimes be difficult to find willing travel partners – your usual travel buddy might have commitments over the festive period that they may not be able to shirk! If this is the case, fear not…there is a way to get abroad, make new friends and occupy your mind that you may not have considered.

Taking a language holiday abroad could be just what you need. Although some schools do close over the Christmas period, there are schools in Spain, Italy, Germany and Mexico that stay open expressly to cater for students who want courses at this time of year.

If you’re disenchanted with Christmas in your usual surroundings, doing a course abroad will enable you to escape the tired traditions and commercial offensives of your country and experience something fresh and new…

Whilst all of your colleagues return to work pale-skinned and half a stone heavier after two weeks of overindulgence, you’ll come back refreshed, invigorated and brimming with excitement about your new language skills for the coming year!

What are you waiting for?
