Language Courses in Boston

If you are thinking of learning Spanish in Boston, the capital and largest city in the state of Massachusetts, you will be in good company.

The city, one of the oldest in the United States, is known by many as the Athens of America and by others as the hub of the universe. It is a well-known center of education and learning and is home to two world famous universities - Harvard and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) - there are many other institutions and colleges too.

I first went to Boston many moons ago on my way through to Cape Cod one summer. 24 hours in a city is not enough to really get a feel for what it is like, but since living in the States, I have been lucky enough to return a couple of times. It’s a four-stage bus or train ride way though New York State, Connecticut and Massachusetts from New York.

Part-time courses in Spanish are an attractive option for many people who are living or working in the city. The Spanish classes take place in the center of the city, and appeal to a wide variety of people who are learning the language for many different reasons. The convenience of the location and the fact that the Spanish lessons are only for 2 hours, on 1 evening per week, also ensures that taking the course is not going to be a huge commitment to add to an already busy schedule for many people.

Learning Spanish in a thriving educational center like Boston gives most students the confidence to go and practise the language outside of class. And with a strong Hispanic and Latin Community in the city, there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants where you can go and try out those new Spanish words you have just learned in class.

Part-time evening Spanish classes are also a great way to learn some words or to brush up the Spanish you do know if your partners’ first language is Spanish. Perfect for when you have to meet the rest of the family!

Taking a Spanish Course in Boston is also a good way to get some useful Spanish phrases under your belt before going on a holiday to Central or South America or even further afield to Spain, and in fact many people use a part time Spanish evening course as a stepping stone to actually taking Spanish classes overseas in a Spanish speaking country.
