New French course destination: Brussels

In an exciting addition to our range of French course destinations, we will now also be offering courses in Brussels.

The new location is our first ever in Belgium, and it increases the total number of French-speaking countries where you can learn French with Cactus to six.

Brussels is a city with huge international significance due to its association with several EU institutions and NATO. As you’d expect from any such city, it is hugely cosmopolitan and up-market, but it is also becoming increasingly fashionable. Its stint as Cultural Capital of Europe in 2000 really boosted its international reputation as a centre of arts and culture, and it has continued to progress in this regard ever since.

Although historically both Dutch and French have been spoken in Brussels, the majority of inhabitants today are French speakers.

Brussels is a great destination for anyone who is looking for a vibrant and international place to learn French, and is also perfect for those who prefer not to fly. Eurostar trains leave London for Brussels every couple of hours (until the early evening), and the journey takes around 2 hours.

Currently, students can take a General French course in Brussels. Accommodation is offered with a local host family, and lessons take place at the partner school’s premises on the campus of the Universite catholique de Louvain.
