Language and surfing courses – a fun and effective way to learn

Combined language and activity courses are becoming increasingly popular these days, but surfing still tops the list for the activity that most people want to learn.

Combined language and activity courses give students the chance to learn in the classroom in the morning, and learn on more practical level in the afternoon. Activity lessons and sessions are conducted entirely in the local language, and give you the opportunity to learn a new, exciting hobby whilst practising and improving your language skills.

Surfing has always been a popular sport, but it’s now more fashionable than ever. The great thing about surfing too is that it’s accessible to everyone- all you need is a board and wetsuit…oh, and ideally some waves!

Traditionally, the surfing hotspots have been California, Australia and Hawaii but these days you can find surf schools everywhere. Currently, Cactus offers language and surfing courses in the following locations:

English

- Honolulu
- San Diego

French

- Biarritz
- Guadeloupe

Portuguese

- Lisbon
- Porto

Spanish

Spain

- Cadiz
- San Sebastian
- Tenerife

Chile

- Pichilemu

Costa Rica

- Jaco Beach
- Samara
- Playa Tamarindo

Peru

- Lima

Qualified instructors will show you the ropes so you can learn how to catch your first wave, and judging by the feedback that we’ve had from our many language and surf students, once you’ve done that, you’ll be hooked.

So what are you waiting for? Close your eyes and imagine those sparkling blue waters, beautiful sunsets and chilled out evenings on the beach…

Surf’s up!
