Brush up your French skills to get involved in Vancouver 2010
Friday, 3rd July 2009

In March next year Vancouver will host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
VANOC (The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games) has vowed to ensure that the Games are conducted in both English and French, saying:
“We are committed to delivering bilingual Games because linguistic duality is a fundamental characteristic of the Canadian identity; the French language is also an important component of our cultural diversity.”
The Games will create thousands of jobs (both paid and voluntary), and being involved in the organization or running of the Games will be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Although not all jobs will have knowledge of French as a requirement, surely those with the best chance of securing a role will have some proficiency in the language…
If you want to learn or brush up your French skills prior to applying for a position, why not attend one of our evening language courses in Vancouver or Toronto, or even take an intensive language course in Montreal or Quebec.
