The US and Canada are home to some of the largest Chinese communities in the world. For this reason, the likes of New York and San Francisco offer some of the most spectacular and colourful New Year celebrations outside of China, and the great thing is, anyone can join in.
If, during the New Year period, you head to areas like China Town in New York and San Francisco, for example, you will see parties, parades, dancing and some spectacular firework displays. Experiencing the New Year celebrations is a great way to learn about Chinese culture and traditions, and, of course, to put your Mandarin or Cantonese to the test…
