Five Good Reasons to do your CELTA in the Sun

Trends in TEFL show that heading for the sun is perfect at this time of year...

Over the last few weeks especially, more and more people are applying to do New Year TEFL courses in such fantastic and SUNNY destinations as Phuket, Cape Town, Ho Chi Minh City, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro.

Let’s face it, given the general ‘greyness’ that seems to be omnipresent in the UK at the moment, it’s hardly surprising that people want to escape.

There are certainly other benefits of doing your course somewhere far–flung, warm and lovely, too:

1. Sunshine is good for the soul! Feeling lighter of spirit will probably mean that you are less likely to get stressed whilst you do the course, which is, by every trainee’s admission, hard-going.

2. Training in a sunny place will give you more to look forward to - not only will you have a great course to prepare for, but a tropical, and possibly new, destination to be excited about experiencing too.

3. These types of locations will provide you with fantastic ways to truly relax on your day off, whether it is sitting on the beach, going snorkelling, sightseeing or just sipping cocktails by the water’s edge.

4. Not only is the sunshine good for the spirit, it’s also good for the health. Being in a warm climate will most likely prevent you from catching the usual colds and flu that result from being run-down, overworked, and living in a cold and wet environment. Make sure that you don’t forget your sun cream though - replacing the coughs and sniffles with third degree burns will not help the chances of an optimum performance on your course…

5. Doing your TEFL training in a sunny location will give you greater access to local jobs that might arise, meaning that it will arguably be easier for you to STAY in these great places!
