Tuesday, 26th July 2011

We’re pleased to announce that applications for this year’s Suzanne Furstner Foundation scholarship are now being accepted.
The Scholarship
As always, the scholarship prize will offer the winner the sought-after opportunity to take a CELTA course and a two week language course in an exciting location abroad. This year, the courses are being offered in the beautiful city of Barcelona.
The prize will include accommodation and return flight to the UK (or equivalent) and a condition is that the CELTA course must be taken in February 2012.
The winner will be chosen by a three-person committee and will be announced in October 2011.
The Assignment
Anyone who would like to submit an application should write a maximum of 1000 words on the topic of ‘Six Weeks in Barcelona’ to be interpreted in any way they choose. In addition to this, candidates will have to complete a short language-awareness task.
Assignments will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
• Relevance to the scholarship theme
• Clear reasons why the winning the scholarship would be beneficial for the winner
• Originality
• Use of clear, accurate and error-free language
• The results of their language-awareness task
Please visit the Cactus TEFL website for full details and to download the application form.
