Cactus launches own-brand Spanish study books
Thursday, 29th January 2009
Cactus, one of the world’s leading language training specialists, has developed a range of study books specifically designed to complement its hugely successful Spanish evening classes.
Working with SM/ELE, the Cactus-branded books have been written by Virgilio Borobio and designed to reflect the syllabus of Cactus’ Beginners and Beginners Plus Spanish courses.
Based on a framework of 20-30 hours of learning, the new books will help learners express themselves through practical and cultural examples, as well as increase their understanding of the language through a variety of listening exercises on the accompanying CD.
“We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our language services, and following customer feedback, we saw a need to develop a range of books to suit our Spanish evening courses,” commented Chris Moore, Head of Cactus Language Training. “Demand for Spanish language courses has continued to boom, with 35% of people booking evening classes through Cactus choosing Spanish. This January alone, nearly 1,000 students are studying Spanish with us across the UK. Looking ahead, we hope to extend our range of books to include other languages and accommodate a variety of levels.”
With courses in 24 languages available at 33 locations around the country, Cactus is the UK’s leading provider of evening language training. Each 10-week course is taught by a native-speaker teacher in a fun and friendly environment, with a focus on conversational skills, speaking and being understood.
