Adult Learners’ Week: Time to learn a language?
Friday, 7th May 2010

Ever fancied learning something new but never quite got round to it? Join thousands of other people in Adult Learners' Week from 15th - 21st May.
If there was ever a time to learn something new it’s now! Each year thousands of people pick up a new skill during Adult Learners’ Week, aimed at encouraging adults across the country to take the plunge and give learning a go. An inspirational and uplifting week, it is the largest learning campaign of its kind and is now celebrated in over 50 countries worldwide.
This year Adult Learners’ Week runs from 15th - 21st May. Whatever your age, background or interests, there are plenty of organised activities for you to choose from, or you can simply pick something near you that takes your fancy. From music and dance to sport, food and languages, adults up and down the UK will be participating in new things that could potentially become life-long hobbies.
Those who wonder what it’s like to speak a foreign language should head to Brighton Fringe Festival, where Cactus Language Training are holding a special language taster evening on May 18th. The evening includes taster sessions for beginners in Spanish, Italian, Russian and Japanese, each run by native-speaker teachers, as well as drinks and nibbles and plenty of opportunity to chat to like-minded people. Book tickets on the Festival website and on the night you’ll be entered into a draw to win a 10-week evening course in the language of your choice!
If you’re really itching to immerse yourself during Adult Learners’ Week then why not book a language course abroad, the perfect way to surround yourself by the sights and sounds of a language and, arguably, the best way to learn a language.
Whatever it is that you learn this week, be inspired.
