Intercultural, Crosscultural Training from Cactus Language Training

Intercultural (cross-cultural) training is in vogue at the moment and for good reason - often intercultural skills are equally or even more important than language skills. It certainly pays to understand the culture, the little jokes, the handshakes and the kisses of your colleagues or suppliers abroad. They will often be more familiar with British culture (through studying English, cinema, literature) than you are with their culture and this gives them the upper hand.

In order to live harmoniously and work effectively in the international community, business people need to be able to adapt to new cultural environments and develop cross cultural awareness and the ability to communicate across cultures. An appreciation of the cultural dimensions of their commerical responsibilites in a multicultural environment is required and must be addressed.

The objectives are to provide participants with key knowledge of the communities and cultures of particular countries or geographical areas in order to dispel fear and misunderstandings and to explore the importance of understanding the corporate culture of the area in order to improve relations and to be more effective in business.
