Cactus protects its customers with ATOL Bond

The collapse of the XL Leisure Group last week sent shock waves through the travel industry and caused widespread misery as tens of thousands of customers were left stranded around the world. Worse still, hundreds of thousands of customers had their holidays cancelled without any warning or refunds.

Cactus is a member of ATOL (Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing) and so all of our customers have total financial protection for any flights and holidays booked through us. ATOL protects clients from losing money or being stranded abroad if their tour operator goes out of business and is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The current travel chaos may mean that more customers return to booking holidays via an operator rather than travelling independently. Whatever the outcome, it’s an issue that is unlikely to go away in the near future with industry instability continuing. The ATOL bond ensures peace of mind for travellers and is a simple and effective way for them to protect themselves.
