Voice
training
There are many reasons why you might want to train your voice:
• to improve your vocal performance in presentations
• to reduce an accent
• to sound more cultured
• to eliminate nerves when speaking publicly
Voice training will give you confidence when you speak and help
you make a good impression in your working and private life.
Accent
softening
Having an identifiably foreign accent can be a real liability
in today's multi-cultural but impatient and rushed world. You
may feel you are being stereotyped, passed over for promotion
or maybe you are just tired of being asked to repeat yourself
all the time.
An Accent Softening course will:
• help you modify word stress, sentence stress,
and intonation patterns
• work on specific problem sounds
• practise the way your lips, tongue and jaw move
• look at how your mother tongue compares with standard
British pronunciation
While it will take time and practice, eventually using these
changes will become second nature. Your accent will become less
obtrusive, and listeners will no longer need to strain to understand
what is being said.
Elocution
It may sound old-fashioned, but speaking well is as important
today as it was in the past. People in the public eye, such as
politicians and leading businessmen, have never stopped taking
elocution lessons to improve their diction and enunciation.
We offer elocution coaching to help you:
• reduce a regional accent
• achieve a well-modulated voice
• achieve greater clarity when speaking
• avoid mumbling or using an excessively soft or loud voice
As a result, you will be able to speak with greater effectiveness,
confidence and impact.
Presentation
Skills
We deliver coaching for public speaking and presentations. Typically
this will involve work on
• voice projection and power
• creating a presence
• 'working' the audience
• leaving a strong impression
Your audience will be wowed, and you will be able to achieve
the objectives of any presentation you give time and time again.
