Our Head Office is located in the heart of Brighton, with a subsidiary office located in Manhattan. Our international team is made up of people from all around the world, who share one passion: language. Between us we speak some 15 languages.

Intern Positions - Available from 3-12 Months

Interns constitute a lively and cosmopolitan part of life at Cactus. We have positions available on an ongoing basis, both in our UK Brighton office and our US New York office.

Positions available now from 3 to 12 months:

Cactus Product Department Support*

A support role within the busy Cactus Sales Teams. The support role would include answering the telephone for our department and directing calls to other members of staff. We therefore require a near native level of English. Duties will also include using our in-house admin system to process orders and payments and to assist in responding to some basic customer enquiries, collating feedback for the websites; collating statistics from feedback forms. Daily tasks will also involve gathering data from schools, updating the website with valuable information and helping out in other departments or projects where needed.

Cactus Operations Support*

A support role within the busy Cactus Operations Team. Cactus works with a large number of freelance language teachers and this role would include supporting the academic and operations staff in their communication with the teachers. Duties would include emailing and telephoning teachers and responding to their emails; helping to source and recruit teachers; chasing references and other documentation; helping with correspondence around seminar programmes and teacher observations; sending course materials to teachers; collating feedback from feedback forms and other duties as required. You will need to have a very high level of English, good attention to detail, good written English and be proficient in Excel. Additional languages would be an asset.

Marketing Department - Support*

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic intern to support our busy international marketing team.  This role offers versatility, responsibility, autonomy and practical, on the job training and experience of a diverse range of online and offline marketing activities.

You will need to be adaptable and flexible with a hands-on approach to your work, bags of initiative, enthusiasm, creativity, lots of ideas, an eye for detail and an inquisitive mind.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- Maintaining our network of e-commerce websites, e.g. adding/changing copy content, pictures and new pages

- Writing copy for marketing materials and the websites, e.g. blog articles

- Designing and distributing the monthly e-newsletter

- Creating printed marketing materiel and liaising with suppliers

- Assisting in organising, promoting and attending events

- Online promotion and PR activities, including forums, directories and social networks

- Data collection and maintenance

As part of the training, you will learn to use web and design programmes, such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator.

£200 per calendar month for the first 13 weeks
£385 per calendar month for the remaining weeks
