Language Training from Cactus for the Olympic Games

Cactus Sales Director Germaine Broadbent speaks about Cactus’ role in the Olympics
What a week for thoughts of the future - particularly London 2012 and the Olympics in general. Cactus’ involvement with the Olympic Games began in 2006 when Cactus Language Training successfully conducted an Olympic English Language Training Course for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics bid team. Sochi won and is now the host of the 2014 Olympic Games! I like to think that our support, research and solid teaching played a part in helping Sochi achieve the success it deserved.
More recently, in 2007 Cactus added to its bluechip portfolio of organisations that we work with - LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games). LOCOG, along with Standard Chartered, Tesco and EDF Trading, have been improving their communication abilities by taking a series of in-company language training programmes with Cactus. This has meant that we at Cactus feel like we are involved not only in London 2012, but in Beijing 2008 as we help various groups of people representing our country prepare for their trip to Beijing this summer.
Of course, when I started to let my mouse wander all over the Internet, looking at the future possible locations of the Winter and Summer Olympics, such as Madrid, Chicago, Tokyo, etc., I discovered that there are so many cities where Cactus has a presence (either by providing our own evening language courses in the UK or US, or by sending our clients from overseas to take language or TEFL courses) - it again accentuated that SMEs based in Brighton, UK, can rightly feel and be part of a global sports movement!
