With Fabio Capello taking the job of England’s football manager in January, journalist Bryony Gordon was tasked with learning Italian in a month to mirror his attempt to learn English. The three-quarter page feature details Bryony’s progress in getting to grips with the language using a specially designed programme from Cactus. This included one-to-one training with an Italian teacher (Federica), evening classes and home study books to enable her to absorb as much Italian as possible in a short space of time. Bryony comments: “My time with Federica fires my brain: it is the first time I have learnt something new in years. When my hours are up and it is time to wave arrivederci to her, I feel quite sad.”
