English course and surfing in Honolulu

If you’re thinking about learning English while in America and you would like to combine your lessons with a vacation, look no further than The Surfing English Adventure in central Waikiki, Hawaii.

Hawaii was the 50th state to be added to America and is the farthest south of all the states, laying a mere five hour flight from California in the Pacific Ocean. The various islands that make up the state of Hawaii are world renowned for amazing surf.

Your course will combine a general English program of 16 hour lessons per week along with a 2-hour surf lesson per week. The average class size is approximately 10 students and the ages range anywhere from 17 onwards. Classes offered are for all language levels. The language school is literally located 2 minutes from the beach. The classroom setting is spectacular, with views of both the ocean and the mountains which make up these glorious islands.

The surf lessons are run by experienced surf instructors from Girls Who Surf. The instructors pick you up from your school and provide you with all of your surfing equipment. You will get about 1 and a half hours in the water per surf lesson. If you’ve never surfed before, you will be given basic lessons, but if you are experienced you will be exposed to the intensive surf lessons. In general you will be taught surf etiquette and standard safety.
