1. Telephone Discussion of Needs

This website only serves to illustrate what we can do. When you speak to us over the phone, you'll start to see your plans and objectives taking shape. The more information we can get at this stage, the more relevant the proposal we send to you. Contact us on 0845 130 4775.

2. Course Proposal/Order Form

Once we have gathered the key information necessary on your organisation's global objectives, we'll be in a position to provide you with a proposal detailing course durations, frequencies, an insight into our methodologies, and a summary course plan, based on the information we've received. Once you sign and return this to us, we will start to put your training in place.

3. Level Assessment & Needs Analysis

This can also be undertaken before we send out a proposal to you, to provide you with a detailed course programme prior to your agreement. Level assessment ranges from a simple online test, to a full-scale language audit, where trainers and members of the Academic Team conduct individual staff interviews, and provide a complete analysis of levels. The Needs Analysis can also either be conducted online, over the phone, or face-to-face, for one, or many employees.

4. Formation of Groups & Course Content

Groups will often be formed on the basis of financial constraints. We aim to optimise the budget you have available by ensuring groups follow, where possible, similar objectives at similar levels of language.

5. Confirmation of Lesson Times & Start Dates

We'll liaise with you to confirm the times which suit you best, and fix realistic start dates, which allow all group members to start out together. Then we brief the trainer and we're ready to go.

6. Online Reporting System initialised

We send your user name and password allowing you access to our online system. Once courses are started, you can manage participant lists, track group progress, verify course content and even check absenteeism.

7. Invoicing and Payment

We like to receive payment before the start of lessons, which can be arranged by bank transfer or cheque on receipt of our invoice. For international training, we are able to invoice in Euro and US dollars. For large scale training projects, we are able to invoice on a monthly basis.

8. Start of Training

The big day arrives and individual employees or groups meet their trainer, who has been fully briefed on the course programme and language acquired to date. The first lesson is still largely about getting to know each other and discussing objectives. Training will be given in the target language only, unless there is a very good reason for using the trainees' native language. Also, "one hour" sessions really do last 60 minutes, so we suggest that if you require a break during a lesson, you budget in extra time for this.

9. Feedback & Support

This is a constant process at Cactus Language Training, not just something which takes place at the end of your course. We’ll be in touch with your trainer soon after your first session to gain a pedagogic insight into how it went. The very first session can sometimes be a bit of a shock to the system, especially if trainees haven't had a language lesson for some time. Any trainee can contact us at any time to talk to us and voice any questions or concerns.

10. Further Study

Towards the end of your course, we can discuss options for further study with you. This might mean extending your training sessions with us, or changing to a different permutation. We can also give you guidance and ideas on our international language holidays and weekend breaks overseas, which are one of the finest and most cost-efficient ways of putting your new language acquisitions into practice. We can also make recommendations on techniques and strategies to help trainees to maintain their level of language.
