Flamenco Flow move from Brighton Festival to Orlando Festival!
Posted by Sarah under Cactus Languages Abroad, Spanish
Having sponsored Flamenco Flow at Brighton Festival, Cactus receives good news on the Flamenco Flow world tour State-side…
Orlando Festival went very well, with seven performances there. Working with a team of two talented dancers - both female, so the dynamic was very different! - Ricardo Garcia and his manager, Julie, toured through NYC, Orlando, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver last year. With over thirty shows, right at the end they won the Audience Choice Award for the Vancouver International Fringe Festival - voted by the Audience over the whole Festival!

Ricardo Garcia: Performance at Gilles Larrain Gallery in NYC
Posted by Sarah under Language Courses New York, Spanish
by Germaine Broadbent, Director of Sales
Ricardo and Julie invited me to a gig in NYC….sadly I couldn’t go but I can’t wait to hear all about it!
It was a Spanish evening at Gilles Larrain Studio in Soho on Thursday 29th May. See Gilles’ website here: http://www.gilleslarrain.com/index.html
Gilles took album cover photos for Miles Davis, Sting and John Lennon, and more recently had an international exhibition of Flamenco photos.
Ricardo and Gilles performed together - it was billed as a fairly intimate and relaxed gathering – where you could bring along some wine if you liked! Friends also very welcome…..
Sadly Rich, Lara or Augusta (Cactus US staff) couldn’t make it this time. But keep us informed of future gigs Julie and Ricardo – we’ll be there if we can!

Cactus made its first appearance in the Brighton Fringe Festival this weekend! Flamenco Flow had its two final ‘Flamenco con Fusion’ shows on Sunday 11th May - both a huge success - and, as sponsors, it was great to see our new banners on stage standing tall and proud. My work remit stretched to one dress change, handing out flyers for the Cactus Fringe events and even selling CDs!
